The Davis County Children’s Justice Center is part of the new complex completing the Davis County civic campus in Farmington, Utah. The concept of a nautilus shell (representative of protection, strength, and transformation) formed the basis for curling the building around a healing courtyard and informed the selection of the building’s materials. Textured stone veneer in tan and brown tones is contrasted with pure white limestone with exposed saw marks that leave the impression of windswept shells. The facility features interview and observation spaces, along with a 60 seat conference room.
