Lyman Library

The exterior development and material selection were inspired by the agrarian buildings found in the community. The use of exposed wood framing supporting the sloped metal roof forms acknowledge the neighboring barns, while the canted stone walls pay homage to the fieldstone fences dotting the surrounding landscape. Extensive use of high-performance, floor-to-ceiling glazing promotes a strong interior / exterior connection.

The community now enjoys a large auditorium space for public meetings, a dedicated computer and console gaming area for the young adults, and a fireplace in the adult reading area.
